Movement in art and the performing arts has increasing potential as a source of creative ideas for designers, when combined with robotics and multimedia technology. This is an area I call 4D design and I have a www site called
CYBERBRIDGE-4D DESIGN at http://www.dmu.ac.uk/ln/4dd at which I would welcome visitors. There is a 4D FORUM on the site for discussion.
The proceedings of the 4D Dynamics Conference are available on-line with papers on subjects from theatre, mechatronics, architecture, multimedia
and dance. 4D design is defined as "The dynamic form resulting from the design of the behaviour of artifacts and people in relation to each other and their environment."
